Tiger Sweater

I designed this sweater for Sourced Vintage Studio. I’ve been meaning to do a tiger for a while and I created this using maximum color saturation and naive style in mind. I’ve explored some more rudimentary perspective and simplicity of features. I wanted it to be a little anatomically “wrong” and this tiger/monkey , almost human figure, was the final version that just put a smile on my face. Naivety is something we often tend to fight as in a world of automatisms and precision this can be looked at as a negative aspect. In my illustrations I strive to achieve that sense of freedom between mark making and breaking preset mental boundaries. Chain stitch embroidered on this 1960s bright yellow survivor gym top.
